Staying Sane while Planning the Perfect Wedding

Because of the dizzying number of details to consider, building a dream wedding can quickly go from an exciting prospect to a stressful and unpleasant ordeal. Here are some helpful, tried-and-true ways to ease the tension.

1. Get organized. Create a comprehensive checklist with reasonable deadlines, and faithfully check things off as they are accomplished. This creates a sense of order, and makes everything less overwhelming.

2. Be sure to ask for help, and accept help when it's offered. Don't be afraid to delegate; many important details can be successfully handled by friends and family.

3. Take time to relax and smile. Have fun with the process, and recognize it for the unique and special time that it is.

4. Never let the wedding details become more important than the wedding itself. In the long run, the flower choices don't matter all that much. Celebrating a marriage with loved ones does.
