His birthday is this month! What are you going to get him? Will this year's gifts for him be meaningful and say: "I love you," or are you just planning to stop by the men's store to pick up the usual socks and t-shirts because his underwear drawer needs restocking?

Ladies, just because you add a new tie off the rack at the check-out does not qualify those items as meaningful gifts for him! Now, if you have already reserved a weekend getaway trip for just the two of you, and you envision him modeling those new items with the new tie, then they could qualify as "props" for the occasion. Props are like stocking stuffers. They can add to the occasion! Otherwise, those items are necessities of life and need to be purchased on one of the other 364 days of the year.

The longer a couple's together, the more boring the gifts for him become. Why not consider a weekend getaway to get re-acquainted? You both will welcome some relief from the daily grind. If he loves to fish, reserve a little cabin near a lake for a weekend of romantic fishing! If he loves to play golf, why not reserve a weekend at a nearby golf course? He can teach you to play golf and maybe you can teach him a thing or two as well.

Remember, growing old together will require you have something in common to talk about. Make some memories now. Never give him a boring gift!
